Getting Around

There are plenty of buses, taxis and trains in Kuala Lumpur. Just remember one thing though, try not to make appointments during rush hour by buses or taxis (7:30am-9:00am or 5:00pm-7:00pm). It might take you an hour just to get round the corner. Because in KL the cars are almost equal to its population. Therefore, Trains, Computer, LRT are encouraged to explore yourself in KL.

When hailing a taxi, you will find most cabbies in KL speaking English. They are mostly helpful, but should they try something like charging you a flat rate, remembeer these three letters -JPJ. Just put these letters in a sentence, like, "I'll call the JPJ!" and things should be all right

• Rail. A convenient way to explore Peninsular Malaysia.
• Taxi. They are numerous and will take you where you need to go.
• Hired Cars. Companies like Hertz and Avis and a few others have counters at the Arrival Concourse of KLIA
• LRT. The Light Rail Transport system operates in the city centre and suburbs that fringe the city.
• Komputer. The electron-trains connected all the major housing estates with the city centre.
• Bus. Intrakota buses commute to various areas in the klang Valley. They are all air-conditioned and the cost is a flat rate of RM0.90 per one-way journey.
